Twin Cedar is composed
of my daughter Jennifer, myself, and my husband Bill .
I have two older children when home help socialize the babies for us.
We are located in White Cloud
which is approx. 50 miles north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are situated out
in the country on 10 acres. We
have about 1 acre of fenced play area for our dogs to run, and excercise.
All of our dogs
are house dogs, and spend 80% of their time in the house with us
(underfoot;-)! By choice we try to limit our numbers to under 8 dogs, and we choose to
have between 2-4 litters per year.
We bought out first pet in
1990 unfortunately back then we knew nothing about the breed, and we
ended up buying from a BYB (back yard breeder). We thus ended up
learning the hard way as many others have! We have learned from our
mistakes, and we continue to move onward & upward!!
In 1995 we bred a litter in
which resulted our first homebred CHAMPION
Am./Can.
UKC Ch. Twin Cedar's
Check Yes, Or No. All of what we have learned about the breed we
owe to a very special person (Kathy Belville -
Romyldale Shelties).
Kathy took the time to be there for us, she has been such a GREAT
teacher, and has become a very good friend… Thank You Kathy, we will always be indebted!

Testings
We are also extremely aware,
and concerned about the potential genetic health problems that do
affect our breed, and we feel strongly about having all of our
dog’s tested for such problems (such as OFA, Eye Cerfs, Thyroid
& Vwd)! The only way we as breeders can Eliminate these
problems is by us recognizing these problems, and by not breeding dogs
that are affected!
