Mythology : Because of his unmistakable figure in the sky Orion is associated with hundreds of stories that come to us from every ancient civilization. Unlike the great Hercules whose exploits were very detailed, Orion appears as a vague figure. It is hard writing specific events about him because many of our references clash on the details. It is supposed that Orion was a son of Neptune and was killed by Scorpius, but for an indepth look into the mystery and intrigue refer to Burnham's Celestial Handbook.
