Dorado (Dor)
"Dorado"

Location : RA = 5h Dec = -60

Main Attractions : The constellation itself is unspectacular, but it does house the spectacular Large Magellanic Cloud. The LMC is actually a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way and shines at first magnitude. It is close enough so that nebulas and star clusters within can be seen, the most fascinating being the Tarantula Nebula. We feel that the LMC is the greatest view that people in the Northern Hemisphere miss out on. (If you disagree, e-mail = astro@astro.newaygo.mi.us).
