Aquila (Aql)
"The Eagle"

Mythology : Aquila stood by the side of Zeus during the struggles with the Titans over control of the universe. Aquila is rumored to have carried Zeus' thunderbolts to destroy the Titans. Later, Aquila was given the task of finding the most beautiful youth on Earth to serve as the god's cupbearer. Zeus was so delighted with Aquila's selection of Ganymede he reserved Aquila a place among the stars.

Main Attractions : The star Altair, along with Deneb in Cygnus and Vega in Lyra, make up the famous asterism "The Summer Triangle" which passes overhead during August for those in the northern latitudes.
